Ajax is sold as equipment. You buy it, an installer fits it, and you own it. There are no ongoing fees. The Ajax app, notifications and control are free for the life of the system.
Verisure is sold as a service. You pay an upfront installation fee, then a monthly subscription typically between £30 and £60 for 24 to 36 months. The equipment is leased, if you cancel, it goes back.

Who should choose Ajax?
You should pick Ajax if you want to own your security setup, you’re comfortable managing the app yourself, you plan to stay in your home for several years, and you don’t want recurring charges. Most UK homeowners we install for fall into this category.
Who should choose Verisure?
Verisure makes sense if you specifically want professional 24/7 monitoring and a security guard response, you prefer a managed service to owning the equipment, and you’re comfortable with a fixed monthly outgoing. Common for higher-risk properties or owners who travel a lot.
The middle ground
You can actually have the best of both. Install Ajax, own the equipment, and then optionally add monitoring through an independent ARC if you decide you want it later. This gives you flexibility a Verisure contract doesn’t, you can switch monitoring providers or drop monitoring entirely without losing your alarm.
