1. Who we are
Sutton Security Systems ("we", "us", "our") is a trading name of R & U Services Limited. We supply and install wireless Ajax alarm systems for homes across the United Kingdom. 2. The information we collect
We collect information you give us directly when you request a quote, book a survey, contact us or sign up for updates. This may include your name, phone number, email address, postcode and address, details about your property such as its type and number of bedrooms, and any information you choose to share about your security needs. If you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp we keep a record of that correspondence.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to respond to enquiries and provide quotes, to arrange surveys and installations, to provide ongoing support for your system, to keep records of the work we have carried out, and, where you have agreed, to send you occasional security tips and product news. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Our legal bases
We process your data where it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and to perform that contract, where we have a legitimate interest in running and promoting our business in a way you would reasonably expect, where you have given consent, for example to receive marketing emails, and where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to run our business: with Ajax Systems where required to register or support your equipment and its warranty, with service providers who help us operate, such as email and messaging platforms, and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. Every provider we use is required to protect your data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep quote enquiries for up to 12 months from our last contact with you. If you become a customer, we keep records of your installation and support history for as long as you remain a customer and for 6 years afterwards to meet our legal and warranty obligations. Marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe.
7. How we protect it
Your information is stored on secured systems with access limited to the people who need it to serve you. We use reputable providers, keep software up to date and never store more information than we need.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access a copy of your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, to object to or restrict our processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.
