1. About these terms
These terms apply when Sutton Security Systems, a trading name of R & U Services Limited ("we", "us", "our"), supplies and installs security equipment for you. By accepting a quote or booking an installation you agree to these terms. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Our service
We supply and professionally install wireless Ajax security systems for residential properties. The exact equipment, scope of work and price are set out in your written quote. A typical residential installation is completed in a single day, although larger properties can take longer.
3. Quotes and pricing
Surveys and quotes are free and carry no obligation. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. The price in your quote covers the listed equipment, installation, setup of the Ajax app and a full demonstration. There are no monthly fees and no subscription charges payable to us.
4. Payment
A deposit of 50% of the quoted price is payable to confirm your booking, with the remaining 50% due on completion of the installation. We will confirm accepted payment methods with your quote. Title to the equipment passes to you on receipt of payment in full.
5. Installation and access
You agree to provide access to the property at the agreed time and a safe working environment, including mains power. We will treat your home with care, keep disruption to a minimum and leave the property clean and tidy. If we discover an issue that changes the scope of the work, we will discuss it with you before continuing and no extra cost will apply without your agreement.
6. Ownership, no subscriptions
Once paid for, your system belongs to you outright. We do not charge subscriptions, monitoring fees or contract fees. Optional extras, such as additional devices or future call-outs beyond warranty support, are quoted separately at the time.
7. Warranty and support
Ajax equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. In addition, our installation workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. If something is not right in that period, we will return and put it right at no charge. Support beyond warranty is available at fair, agreed rates.
8. Cancellation and rescheduling
If you cancel your booking 7 days or less before the scheduled installation date, your deposit is non-refundable, as by that point we have reserved your engineer and ordered your equipment. Cancellations made more than 7 days before the installation date receive a full deposit refund. If we ever need to reschedule, for example because an engineer is unavailable, we will rearrange your installation at the earliest date convenient to you and your deposit remains fully protected. If you book at a distance, for example by phone or online, you may also have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and nothing in this section affects your statutory rights. 9. Our responsibility to you
An alarm system is a strong deterrent, but no security product can guarantee that a crime will never occur, and we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it quickly. We take complaints seriously and aim to respond within 2 working days.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page at the time you accept a quote is the one that applies to your order.
